[Cialug] How normal is it to ask for w2s and pay stubs as part of the interview process?

My reaction to that would be to tell them where to shove their "job".  That
smells WAY to much like game playing and manipulation right from the
outset.  Please realize though I have a very low tolerance for mind games.
Your situation/mind set may be different.
