Yeah, John Todd contacted me privately and gave me a Google Maps URL
that shows (approximately) the path the that wire takes to get to my
place. As someone with little interaction with the telecom world, the
path is a lot longer than i would have expected.
I don't know why i have modem trouble; i think i've even had it replaced
once. But still, every few months i have to reset it. Last year i was in
Japan for 3 months and it locked up a couple times, but fortunately
Internet Solver was able to do something on their side to make the modem
reset without someone having to physically touch it. Normally when i
have trouble with it and i'm in the US i just power cycle it and don't
bother to open a support ticket though.
