[Cialug] VMware install on Ubuntu 10.04 issue

I am trying to increase my knowledge of packages that seem to keep popping up on job postings.  I have been job searching since the end of June and the whole effort has been relatively fruitless.  I have had 3 interview in the period.  


In all the how to's found with suggestions of how to overcome the problem I saw none of them have resolved the issue for me.  One seemed to be oriented toward someone with a 64 bit system which I don't have.  


Probably wasting my time if this package is not being supported anymore anyway!

Tom, what is your intent here? That might help a lot to decide what type of virtualization you should be running.

If you're just trying out an OS, or want to run something occasionally, then VirtualBox or VMWare Player may be a good choice.

If you want to host virtual machines that run all the time, I'd recommend running one of the servers like VMWare ESX.
