[Cialug] Virtual Box and NAS

What speed were you planning to run on fiber channel? You should be able to
get enough bandwidth running gigabit copper ethernet, and you can bond
interfaces if you need to ramp it up.

A ReadyNAS is not going to be able to saturate the built-in gigabit ethernet
due to the slow-ish controller, so I'm not sure why you'd think a PC server
based NAS would need more.

If you have the hardware around, you could build a FreeNAS or OpenFiler box
in an afternoon, and test the performance.
