It would work on Linux. I actually have one of those enclosures. Only problem is that after about a year, either it or the drive died on me. And yes, Windows *should* be able to mount ext3 with the ext2 driver.

Subject: [Cialug] USB enclosure for Linux ext3 drive

For a EIDE drive with multiple ext3 partitions, would a product like this

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=3883498&sku=S457-1132&srkey=S457-1132

work to plug it into another Linux box over USB? A stock NSLU2?

If I add some sort of ext2 module to an old Win2k box, would it then
also be able to read the drive's partitions over USB?

Thanks.
Kendall
