Some people do that, but they usually have laptops. Which i suppose is 
the boat equivalent of carrying a 1-person inflatable raft. Unless it's 
a large "desktop replacement" laptop, which is probably more like an 
aluminum canoe--still portable, but best not carried further than 
necessary. Can this analogy be stretched any further?
