Rest assured there is method to the madness. I took the opposite
route, learning Linux way before I administered my first Windows
systems. It drove me bonkers learning all the little details in
Windows. But what drove me more bonkers was that sometimes (a lot of
times, actually) it feels like the little things in Windows follow
*no* method. Administering Windows means memorizing trivia.
Having said that, there are senseless things in Linux. Oddballs. But
./ is not one of them.
