and make sure you aren't using 127.0.0.1 as a server.

ntpq
associations and peers is handy.

Nope. Mine are working just fine.

Can you give the exact error? You should have something in 
/var/log/messages.

Take a look at your "server" lines in your ntp.conf and check to see if 
the servers are still alive.
