[Cialug] Pod Casting

Call me old fashioned, but I like the players that actually take media.
Find one that accepts CDRs, SDcards, or USB sticks. Then you never have
to worry about kernel/distro upgrades and the like.
I use a Sony player that plays audio and data CDs. I also have an MP3
CD player in my car. This way I can flip media around *and* listen to
it
on whatever OS I am running.
The list of OGG friendly players is here:
http://wiki.xiph.org/VorbisHardware
I don't think it's worth bending over backwards to get an OGG player,
simply because OGG files are not as portable as .mp3.
I applaud the freedom in it, but it brings practical roadblocks and
annoyances,
so I just stick with mp3.

I've install iPodder and have gotten into this pod casting.
Thanks for the head up on this. I've never thought of getting
an mp3 player until now. I'm not that much into music, but this
is pretty cool.
Any suggestions for a Linux friendly mp3 player. It would be nice
if it also played ogg vorbis files, and act as a USB drive as well.
