The absolute best way to get to the top of google is to be relevant  
and be linked to by lots of other good sites. All the other "tricks"  
are just that, and may get you somewhere short term, but there is no  
substitute for just being good and popular and waiting. That's  
essentially the design goal of google, so don't try and fight it.

One good way to get linked to though, is to use the site for your  
"link" on popular forum sites like Slashdot and popular blogs when  
replying.
