[DM-MUG] REinstall of OS = What to do with PreviousSystem

I've had to deal with that before. For some apps, dragging the Pref
panes back into the user library is all you have to do, but I think
that's the minority. For others, you have to restore the app's folder
from the previous /users/yourname/library/application support among
other things. Unsanity apps like Windowshade use a layer of software
called Application Enhancer. I think that does something closer to
the system that I don't know how to restore manually.

I think you should reinstall, and then try to move prefs files back
over, but this can be touchy if the new os install you did uses a
different user name than before (affects paths to /Users/username).
Nothing safer than starting completely fresh. :)

I did an OS reinstall and software update etc. but now have a number
of preference panes [e.g. Windowshade, SErvices etc.] that are in the
PreviousSystem not the 'new' system == my assumption is that I cannot
just click and drag back to the PrefPanes area of Library but just
thought I'd ask = I am assuming I need to redownload and restall???
