[DM-MUG] iPhoto library

At the meeting Tuesday night it was mentioned that one can change  
iPhoto so that it looks for the library of photos on an external hard  
drive.  I started to do that today, but cannot find a way to tell  
iPhoto to "look over there" for photos.  A help screen warned me not  
to delete or move the photo library -- and if you want to do so, have  
a service rep to it.

Is there an easy way to have iPhoto look for photos externally?  (And  
have it switch back to the internal hard drive when on the road with  
the PowerBook?)  It would be really helpful to free up space, but  
maybe I'll just have to move everything over to my desktop computer,  
which has a bigger hard drive.
