[Cialug] Gnome Xorg phantom icons (fwd)

the arrows likely indicate an alias, what do you get if you ls -lah on the directory?

Subject: [Cialug] Gnome Xorg phantom icons (fwd)

Applied a small update last night, .. and today every icon on the desktop
has a "ghost" icon behind with a shortcut arrow! These phantom icons
cannot be seledted/moved/deleted and make a visual mess.

Anyone ever seen something this weird?
