[Cialug] speedtest-cli lies!!!

I've used SpeedTest GUI with symmetrical connections a lot (https://www.speedtest.net/result/8270594082.png); never had an issue. iPerf can handle anything you throw at it.

If iPerf isn't handling something, that's probably an indication you've got some sort of configuration issue - either with iPerf or with the network itself.

At the moment I'm not on a symmetrical connection, but I'm getting over 400Mbps upload through both CLI and GUI Speedtest without issue.

Granted, once you get around ~500 Mbps in either direction, you start seeing somewhat sporadic results, as available bandwidth above those speeds from the speedtest servers, can vary wildly.

BTW - I think the problem is the exact opposite with SpeedTest - IT
assumes an asymetrical connection, and can't deal with an upload that is
close to the same rate as download!

So, .. in case anyone find this thread looking for speedtest issues:

1) SpeedTest can't deal with a symmetrical connection;
2) iPerf can't deal with an asymetrical connection!
