[Cialug] Chromium vs. Chrome

The way I understand it, Chrome is Chromium with DRM capabilities
added.  That difference is what makes it so that Chrome can use Netflix,
while Chromium cannot (there are ways to patch Chromium to add libraries
needed to access Netflix so that you can watch it on a Linux box, and if
Google does, in fact, add phone-home/spyware capabilities -- and you
aren't totally Debian about not adding any closed-source software --
patching Chromium is probably the way to go... of course, then you have
to wonder if the closed-source DRM libs you just added ferry your data
to Netflix).  I haven't really been keeping track of the desktop side of
Linux lately, so I haven't come across Brave, nor have I been paying
attention to Chrome as it relates to Linux.  I used to use Chrome on
Windows simply because Firefox was so damn slow, but since about a year
ago when I discovered that Firefox wasn't garbage-slow anymore, I have
been using Firefox exclusively.

Sorry, for not being any help,
