Before digging too deep with Synology, check the normal offerings on the
platform. Some features are available remotely (without adjusting the
router), so what they need might work right out of the box.

The Synology package is really clean and easy to set up and run. Probably
will want the larger unit; the 2-bay system at MicroCenter doesn't have
some of the capabilities of the larger ones. Again, check whether the
features of the minimal system meet the client's needs.
