[Cialug] Cable Modems

I had that problem too, unfortunately I moved on to other issues
before I could resolve it.
My gut instinct was that there is some obscure protocal that the cable
modem uses in conjunction with DHCP that is natively supported on
windows but not Linux (which most firewalls use)
