[Cialug] Problem with connecting to my internet browser

My problem is that since mediacom changed to an imap4 server I'm unable to retrieve messages for my linux client. I keep getting a message that mediacom is not an imap4  mail server.  Mediacom is of no help. I am able to retrieve messages from my windows client but when I tried other clients such as sylphweed I get connection errors. Please help. I can connect through mediacoms' web interface but that is a pain.  I would love divorce my connection with media com if I could but I have too many investments. ThanksRalph Kessel
