[Cialug] OT - Sophos vs ESET

Sophos's base design is "Do a decent job of out of the box protection
and give the admin the tools to better secure the environment if they
want"

Kaspersky's base design is "Do the best job of out of the box
protection possible, but don't allow for much configurability."

ESET sits right in the middle and does neither job very well.

If you have an hour per day to work on tuning the Sophos solution,
with a goal of getting down to 15 minutes per day, go with Sophos. If
you don't, go with Kaspersky. There is really no reason to go with
ESET.

In either case, you should also load Microsoft's Enhanced Mitigation
Toolkit (confusingly called EMET) to supplement whatever you choose.
