I'll pipe up here.

I use HAPROXY to terminate ssl, and by itself it is VERY frugal with
resources.  It is also screaming fast and dead reliable.

The `top` line for HAPROXY shows this:

%CPU %MEM     TIME+
    0.3      2.9     314:47.23 haproxy

This is on a vm with 512m ram and 181 days uptime.

The configuration is not difficult either.

I honestly don't know how this compares with Nginx, but I am pretty damn
happy so far.
