Red Hat requires derivatives to respect its copyrights and trademarks by
doing things such as stripping out references to Red Hat and removing
any Red Hat logos and such. Not naming "Red Hat" is probably part of the
logo-stripping process. I think it is a bit extreme, but CentOS wants to
play it really safe and never have to worry about getting sued. I
imagine a free distribution would have trouble defending themselves,
since the legal system requires a lot of money. They are just playing it
safe.
