There is a cool product called Cloud9 IDE at https://c9.io/ <https://c9.io/>. They have some open source components, including their code editor.

One awesome thing they offer is the ability to run apps that you build inside a Docker container. 

I am starting to teach classes on software development and wondered if anyone has seen a tool that lets you do this that you can download and run in your own virtual machine. It’d be great to have an environment that I could set up for a class and then reset it when the class is over.

It seems like I saw something a while back, maybe a year or more ago. I now can’t find it or remember what it’s named. I saw that the Cloud9 team have an open source project but it’s only quasi-functional and it lacks the stuff that lets you deploy your app to containers.
