[Cialug] ssd drives (again)

I have used around a dozen Intel SSDs of several different models in appliances, utility servers, and laptops and desktops. They have been very reliable. I think the oldest may be under four years old. Out of these so far I have had issues with a Cherryville on a Windows machine, I'm not sure yet if the SSD is at fault or there is a virus or Trojan involved. I've had such good luck with the Intels I won't use anything else, though the Samsung SSDs have me curious. My firm uses Lenovo laptops (around 20 ) which have some kind of Toshiba flash drives in them. They have been reliable so far too, but seem to have slowed with age (blame Windows?) they are still under 3 years old.

I

have first-hand experience with both Crucial, and Intel SSD drives. Early Crucial M4's proved to have issues that required firmware to address, and caused BSOD issues even after latest firmware was applied.

The Intel SSD's I am running on the other hand, have been both blazing fast and extremely reliable for me, while being more expensive.

Science adjusts its views based on what is observed.

Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.
