[Cialug] ssd drives (again)

The OCZ 2- and 3-series SSDs were notorious for dying on people. The Vertex 4s and the new Vector SSDs have a much better reputation.
The Crucial M4 SSDs and the Samsung 830 SSDs have proven themselves extremely reliable among performance enthusiasts. The Crucials use [one of] the wildly popular Sandforce controller, have decent performance, and are inexpensive. The Samsungs are unique among SSDs in that Samsung makes the flash, the controller, and writes the firmware themselves. The Samsung 840 and 840 Pro series are newer, but they are expected to be similarly reliable. I don't think I've ever seen anything about the Intel SSDs other than the fact that they are reliable. They have always been too expensive for me to take them into consideration.
Keep in mind this is just a regurgitation of many facts and/or opinions read on several forums (fora?), including Tom's Hardware and Overclock.net. I don't have any hands-on experience with any of these SSDs.

Y
es, if you want reliable, go with Intel or Samsung for SSD.

Science adjusts its views based on what is observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.
