[Cialug] SSL Weirdness

Getting a headache trying to setup a CERT on a new machine, .. SuSE 12.2
current, using a GoDaddy CERT.

Apache likes the config, .. however when using a browser with ssl *OR*
openssl s_client, the following errors occur:

# cat secure_access_log
75.130.215.218 - - [05/Mar/2013:10:19:18 -0600] "\x16\x03\x01" 400 226 "-"

# cat secure_error_log

I have never seen anything like this, .. and unsure even what sort of
hints to hunt for <g>! Has anyone ever seen something like this?
