I've been wondering when people would start snapping up cheap android
devices for stuff like this.

My work cafeteria bought fancy looking (probably expensive) LCD photo
displays for putting menu and ad signage out...and I'm thinking, buy some
cheap 7" chineese android tablets, get some UPnP software, and render the
media to them all at once from a backend over WiFi.  No loading and
changing cards daily and if you bought a few in bulk it probably would have
been a lot cheaper.
