[Cialug] redundant power supplies

That would be a bad idea ( Y connect two regulated supplies ) without
isolation as there would be all kinds of oscillations and one would try
to drive the other and possibly burn both up. Speaking as someone who
does this for a living ( computer hardware and software design ).
