yeah, between bootable USB and virtualbox/virtualpc/virtualwhatever,
live cds are less necessary. but that also presumes HW that can boot
from USB (though that's much more common now), or still running windows
where the viruses (and gov't sponsored spyware[1]) can still intercept
your actions. I've toyed for a long time about having my primary PC
being a thumb drive, just never pulled the trigger.
