I'd start poking at an RSS feed for the blog first rather than an
export. Lots of libraries & tools around rss-ingestion. Actually
looking at the xml dump posted, I suspect an Atom RSS parser might get
you pretty close in itself. The python one (Universal Feed Parser)
looks spiffy, but I see java ones too.
