If you want replies to go to the sender, then all you have to do is ... nothing :-)
This is a non-problem. There is nothing broken and nothing for you to fix.
Leaving Reply-To alone should be the default behavior, even for gnu mailman. Therefore, replies should go back to the original sender without having to mangle the From line and strip and add a Reply-To.
There is nothing to do, less code to run.
Again: setting Reply-To in mlm software is not normal. For what you want to do, you can let email work as intended.
