[Cialug] Feb 10th Meeting: Clash of the Titans of FOSS

The next meeting will be held at Ames Public Library at 8pm on
Thursday Feb 10th. The doors will open at 7:30pm so if you want to
show up early, feel free. If you haven't been to the Founder's Suite
yet, just go to the information desk and they'll direct you.

The presentation will be given by Matt Steven on the subject of the
differences between Free and Open Source software, and the history and
reasons for the existence of each movement.

Information will be presented from "Free as in Freedom" by Richard M.
Stallman, and "Just For Fun" by Linus Torvalds and David Diamond as
well as innumerable online sources. These books will be present for
the curious to enjoy.

After the presentation, a round table discussion will take place on
the merits of each approach and the ethics of FOSS.
