Subject: [Cialug] Way OT, .. but OS related

Trying to install Firefox 3.6.13 on a virgin (never had Firefox
installed before) Winders machine, .. but it WILL NOT RUN! [Displays
the crash reporter every time.]

Installed every MS update, .. removed and installed FF more than once
(after cleaning directories), .. removed all extra stuff, ..

Most of the hits I see relate to an upgrade from FF 2 to FF 3 &
incompatible extensions, but that is not the case here.

Anyone ever seen this? Possible solution?
