I hear you there, drive prices got insane! Anyway, for anyone else in the
group that's interested - I'd love to send this home with someone in the LUG
rather than dumping it out on Craigslist (plus my wife says it _needs_ to go
soon). The drives themselves are probably worth close to what I was asking.
If anyone wants to come pick up 2x 500GB Seagate Barracuda ES.2 drives for
$100 OBO, plus a free 2U server, let me know ;) The server comes with the
drive purchase though, and that's not negotiable!

It's still really tempting, but I'm still gonna pass. Sorry. :/ Good
luck finding a buyer on Craigslist, though!
I decided to splurge and went ahead and bought the machine on eBay I was
eyeing elsewhere in this thread. Doesn't have the large hot-swap SATA
backplane that makes yours so gosh-darned appealing, but it's decent
enough in HD space, and basically overkill everywhere else. I'd still
like to do a storage array at some point, but I can't really justify
buying a box to put drives in until drive prices come back down.
