[Cialug] Samba as BDC?

It's been in Beta Forever. I remember looking at it in 2000, using a tech preview of it in 2009, and it still doesn't work 100% now. It's to the point where a few of my environments when from Samba NT4 style domains to Win2008R2. Samba can join an AD domain and share files, but it doesn't do much else.
Windows server as a way to manage windows desktops is still king and Samba doesn't look to unseat is anytime soon

It's also worth noting that if the domain he's trying to migrate is NT style, he can really easily move the NT controller to a samba box, then make Samba BDCs all day long..
