[Cialug] Tasks for learning shell scripting

Have you looked at:

  O'Reilly:
    Learning The Bash Shell
    Learning The Korn Shell
    Classic Shell Scripting

  Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide (http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/abs-guide.pdf)

for inspiration?

The first two, Learning The [Bash|Korn] Shell are almost identical.
I've been trying to replace them with something else, but keep coming
back to them, finding missing pieces (or graceful presentation) I have
only found in those two books. The third is more about scripting,
while the first two are about the specific shells, with substantial
scripting info. Consider Bash for user interface, and Korn for
scripting.

[Some people advise strongly against trying to script with csh]
