[Cialug] OSS Secure Remote Desktop Options

I'm looking into secure remote desktop systems.  Preferably, this would
include both linux and windows remote desktop access, but limiting to linux
(gnome based) will suffice.

Anyone doing anything of this sort over the internet?  Suggestions?
