I shouldn't pick on the guy, because he's made lots of valuable contributions to glibc and other projects. Plus his name couldn't be any closer to Dr. Pepper without being a trademark violation, and that's pretty cool all by itself. But he's not exactly the friendly or responsive maintainer you might hope for on one of the fundamental GNU projects.
There are more than a few examples of him denying that problems exist in the face of clear evidence, claiming that bug reporters don't understand issues even when they cite relevant, authoritative references, refusing to reasonable accept patches that fix problems, mucking with good patches and breaking them so they no longer fix problems, and sometimes silently fixing problems while still closing the bug as though it was not an issue in the first place.

And that doesn't even get into all the patches or requests that come in to make changes that aren't strictly bugs or regressions. He can get really nasty when answering some of those.
