It varies a bit, we've gotten pricing ranging from $0 on the Qwest portion but requiring $10k in conduit from the designated building to the road to $30k for the Qwest construction but the conduit was already there. Most of them we've installed or quoted didn't have any Qwest charges though. The majority of the cost is you getting a 4" PVC conduit from your computer/demarc room out to the designated location in the right of way.

Just out of curiosity, what range of money are we talking about to put in fiber to a given location? I suppose it all depends on distance and "obstacles", but would that be $5,000? $10,000, $50,000?

There are different parts of Qwest. If you look at the paint on the ground when they do locates the local part of Qwest is labeled as QLN for Qwest Local Network.

As far as fiber to your home, if you cover the cost, we'll put it wherever you want :-)
