I lack a degree as well.  The only companies who've ever made an issue 
out of it have been companies that I wouldn't have been happy at in any 
case.  I've found as a result that their position on degrees is a great 
litmus test for me of "do I want to work here?"

Give me a degreeless guy who can get the job done over a well-papered 
fool any day of the week. :-)
