Lee, can you go into details about the VM technology being used here?
Also can you show the interface configuration on both the machine and the VM please?

Any Gui involved?  Is network manager on the host machine?

Don't think so - we even shutdown the old VM & changed the IP on the new
one, rebooted, & same result.
