In San Diego people would put stuff on the curb and then put on Craigslist:

"Free stuff on my curb, 1923 Petunia Lane" (or whatever)

Then they'd hit Enter and immediately run to the window to look out
and see if it was gone yet.  San Diego is a thriving Craigslist
community.  And it never rains.
