I'm on it (fracturednoesis)
I thought Twitter was dumb at first too, but I found a few interesting people and companies (newegg) that occasionally post. Finally I found some nice security alerts (secunia, etc) and find those useful.
I think of Twitter as IRC for everyone where you build your own channel.
