[Cialug] Tonight's meeting

A co-worker has one of the WinMo HTC phones - it's really nice looking 
hardware. He complains that it has really bad lag issues - if you get a 
call, do the on-screen slider to unlock the phone & answer, it takes 
several seconds before you can talk to the caller. He also has had it 
crash several times. He's in the process of trading it in for a Motorola 
Droid phone.

I also like the Pre phones a lot - there are a few Pre owners on this 
list. I've been a Palm phone user in the past - had a Visor Phone (not 
really a great phone, but one of the first smart phones) and a Treo 600. 
The Treo had a good smart phone UI that was usable with your fingertip 
on a touch screen... in contrast to the WinMo phones that feel like 
you're trying to run Windows on a 3" screen...

But... for the ultimate nerd phone, the Nokia N900 with Maemo linux just 
became available today. If you don't mind dropping $600 on a phone.
