We run RHEL 3.x, 4.y, and 5.z without issues on Dell servers. We also 
used to have a 2.1 machine, but it got upgraded to 5.z awhile back.

The PowerEdge 2970's all run 5.z though, so i can't say much as to 
whether the would run 4.y. I presume they would, but don't have 
personal experience to back that up.
