I had to check - distrowatch does show 100 distros, which isn't /too/ 
surprising, I'm sure there are lots more.  although, it does split out 
what are essentially the same thing (ie. ubuntu/kubuntu/xubuntu)

the top ten (based on page hits for 6 months):
