Well, if you're travelling to a far away country you'll have some time to
burn on the airplane. Would be nice to use your computer during that time
which, presumably, you'll be offline.

If you use google gears or some other system that lets you work locally
while offline then you defeat the purpose of the encryption.

Plus, some countries that are very hostile to some things you might want to
hide also have poor international bandwidth.
