[Cialug] OT: Twitter users?

Late to the conversation here. I started using it this spring when I  
got an invite from DMMC. As a musician I can see some utility here as  
it's possible to get people out to shows or call their attention to  
other things of interest.

I know it at least resulted in one of the Nadas (whichever one runs  
their twitter account) listening to the stream of one of my Second  
Life shows - I know this because they @ messaged me and said they were  
confused as to "where" this was but they were listening.

I think the instant (ADD) nature of it lend itself pretty well to  
music and other social activities - the "tweetups" I also just manage  
my access by usually viewing it via rss and only using the regular  
site (and sms) to send. If I end up on a better data plan I might  
experiment with turning on the "firehose"
