This is a nasty annoying bug, even for those of us that don't directly
use Debian-based systems because of the interactions between everyone
else's systems.  Before realizing that I was tempted to poke fun at
the Debian/Unbunu-using folks in the LUG, but this is having effects
in RH/Fedora-land too.
