Yes, if you install Ubuntu it will have to resize your existing 
partition to make room for the Linux partitions. I would suggest backing 
up any important files just in case something goes wrong. Or better yet 
install to a separate drive or find a cheap computer on Craigslist to 
use as your Linux box.
