Do you know what kind of video card your computer has?

Also, one thing to try if you have a blank CD - burn the cd image you
downloaded to disk and boot off the disk. The cd allows you to try
Ubuntu without installing it by simply running from CD (though it's
quite slow this way). If it works when booting off the CD then you may
best be served by doing a traditional install.

The CD image is probably in the same folder that wubi.exe is in.

Sorry you're having problems - but I guess that's what LUGs are for. :-)
